  • The Email

This is the email I sent to Soulmate - the first since he left. It's not the email I wanted to send (I'll post that tomorrow) but it's the email I thought was best to send. My goal was to make it pretty clear that I still have feelings for him and am thinking about him without directly saying "I'm head over heels in love with you" like I want to.

    Hello my dear,

I hope you are nice and settled into South Korea (sorry about my butchered english spelling of "hello" in Korean - did you ever watch the show Arrested Development? Good show... Ahnyong!) and that everything went a little more smoothly than it had been going those last few days in New York. I apologize if I added to your stress in those last days, texting and calling you a bunch and whatnot. I just really wanted to see you, which I hope is forgivable and that you can take it as a compliment

How's life? Enjoying your new adventures? I haven't really been going on many adventures myself lately. Things have been crazy busy here at work, which is good. Today is the first day I've had completely off of work since August 9th... (Insert a bunch of miscellaneous stuff about my life and work because he knows my coworkers).

Anyway, moving on. Hehe. What have you been up to? How is your trip so far? I don't know if I should say this, but I really miss you and I've been thinking about you a lot. I wanted to send you this email because I really do want us to keep in touch. So I thought I would instigate that.

Oh, not that it has anything to do with anything, but Sarah and John really liked you. Sarah was like "I'm sad that he's leaving because he's so cool! I wanted to become friends with him!" Just thought you might like to hear more about how awesome you are

I am also attaching a song (sharing music is kind of just what I do... I have like 8 playlists that I'm making for various people right now). It's by a band that I saw the night you left New York actually. They're called Ravens & Chimes. They were really good and this song might be fitting for you because sometimes big changes can be overwhelming and I think this song expresses that feeling. It's called "This is Where We Are." A few of the songs by this band remind me of you actually for various reasons, not just because I saw them the night you left. But I hope you like the song. It's one of my favorites of the moment and I think it's really beautiful.

Anyway, I guess that's enough rambling nonsense for one email. Hope I haven't bored you and hope to hear from you soon!

    Love,
    HopelessRomantic
