In my rather limited experience, I have to say that more often than not, if I'm fooling around with someone, the guy is more likely to prefer the lights on. As a girl, I am not always 100% comfortable with my body image (it comes and goes) so sometimes when clothes are coming off I prefer the lights off. But other times I don't so much care.
The funny thing is, once I dated this guy who was the opposite. We were just kissing and he'd be like "can we turn off the light?" It was immediate with him. If he thought there was even the possibility of more than kissing happening, he would ask to turn off the light. I was really thrown off by this at first because, like I said, most guys I've dated seem not to care or prefer the light on. I thought it was interesting that for once I wasn't the one asking to turn off the light.
What do you prefer? Lights on or lights off?

Lights on, most definitely!
I want to see his body, his skin, his face, his movements, his muscles, his beads of sweat.
I agree with la_faerie_joyeuse@xanga on the lights on. I am a very visual person and enjoy the look of my partner. It is that smile after the kiss or the sigh during the touch (the cheek [face!]) after the kiss, etc. I guess I like feedback and know that what 'we' are doing is something she enjoys.
Separately, for my own selfish pleasure, part of my attraction is something about the way she looks. I will want to continue to look at her and the attraction her physical self is to me during these semi-intimate times.
I guess that kind of makes me sentimental (first paragraph) and perverted (second paragraph), no?
As honest as I can get...
@uwrote - It doesn't make you a pervert for wanting to see the person you're doing stuff with. I mean, hopefully, if you're doing stuff with them, you are attracted to them so it would make sense that you would want to see them.
@hopelessromantic - Always prefer to see them. I guess it can be a little paranoia on my part to wonder if they're actually thinking of me or using my sensations for their other hopeful (or hopefuls).
I don't really have any preference.. Dim lighting would be my weapon of choice if I had to choose...even though it's not really even one of the choices. I've had bad experiences with "all or nothing lighting". Dim lighting usually leaves room for interpretation and mystery...but also sheds some truths. =]
I <3 your posts.
@reawaken29@xanga - I agree on the dim lighting! Flattering to your not-so-great spots and yet bright enough to allow full visibility to curves, facial expressions etc.
