  • Irony

So update on the guy that asked me out that I said yes to even though I meant to say no because I don't know how to say no to people... Apparently he doesn't either!

Last night I threw my birthday party at my favorite club. The guy was there. And he brought this girl with him, who was staying at his place for the weekend (he and his roommates have people crashing at their place all the time). Anyway, so I could tell that she liked him. Anytime he tried to dance with another girl, she would kind of... get in the way... But he didn't really seem like he was digging her all that much... until they were making out. And even then, he didn't really seem all that into it.

So then later in the night, he buys me a drink and she's off somewhere dancing or something and he starts hitting on me and he brings up the fact that he asked me out in a "so when are we going to go out" context. So then we got into this whole (slightly intoxicated) conversation where I was like "I know we're not exclusive or anything, but I tend not to date guys that make out with other girls in front of me at my birthday party. I don't want to be sloppy seconds and it's just bad college flashbacks." and he was all "I don't like her. I'm trying to get rid of her but I don't know how." and I was all "How? By kissing her?" And then I basically gave him a lecture about how if he's not interested in someone, he should just grow a pair and learn to say no and tell them straight out, which I now am sober enough to find ironic and amusing.

But I guess I at least have my loophole now - my excuse to say no without having to hurt his feelings. Because really, I don't care who you are or how much I am (or am not) interested in you - if you kiss another girl in front of me, we're done. Unless you're an actor in a play or something. But otherwise, that's just a no no.
